The Bible is God’s inspired Word, shaping our faith and guiding our daily lives. It is the ultimate source of truth, free from error. (Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—coequal and co-eternal. They are commonly known together as the Trinity. (Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 9:6; Matt. 3:16-17 & 28:19; Luke 1:35; Hebrews 3:7-11; 1 John 5:7)
Jesus Christ is God the Son, fully God and fully man. Born of a virgin, He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and died for our sins. He rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return in power and glory. (Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1, 14; John 20:28; Philippians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Timothy 3:16)
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Through His death and resurrection, He offers salvation to all who believe. We are saved by grace alone, through faith in Him—it's a gift from God, not something we can earn. (Romans 10:9-10; Galatians 2:16 & 3:8; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Hebrews 9:22)
The Holy Spirit guides and empowers believers. He comforts, teaches, and strengthens Christians to live according to God’s will. The Holy Spirit also helps believers understand God’s Word and equips them to share His love with others. All believers receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit when they are spiritually born again. (John 1:12, 14:17, 14:23, & 15:4; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:11; Revelation 3:20)
We believe that holy living is the evidence of a transformed life. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, believers are called to reflect Christ’s character in all they think, say, and do. Galatians 5:22-23
After placing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, every new believer is called to be baptized in water, as commanded by Scripture, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38, 8:12, 36-38, & 10:47-48)
Communion is a sacred practice where believers remember and appreciate the sacrifice of Jesus Christ through the symbolic act of eating bread and drinking grape juice. The bread represents His body, broken for us, and the cup represents His blood, shed for the forgiveness of sins. It is a time of reflection, gratitude, and spiritual renewal, as believers are united in Christ and strengthened in their faith. (Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 10:16 & 11:23-25)
We believe all of the gifts of the Spirit as seen in scripture are in use today. These spiritual gifts are distributed according to God’s will and enable believers to experience God’s supernatural power today. The spiritual gifts equip the Body of Christ for ministry and we should seek them eagerly while realizing not all believers will experience every spiritual gift. Spiritual gifts should be used in a God-honoring and orderly way. (1 Corinthias 12, 1 Corinthians 14)
Every person is inherently valuable, and though we may look different, have different views, or come from diverse backgrounds, our identity in Christ unites us. True unity is strengthened by the rich diversity of personalities, cultures, races, languages, talents, and perspectives. Embracing these differences not only deepens our connection but also highlights the beauty of God's creation. In Christ, unity fosters love and respect, breaking down barriers and enriching our shared journey together. This is why all are welcome here!
We believe God intends marriage to be a lasting & committed relationship between one man and one woman. This bond is also a reflection of the lasting, committed relationship between Jesus and His Church. Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:25, Mark 10:9, Matthew 19:4-6
Way Church believes that Biblical accountability for church leadership is essential because it aligns with Scripture’s guidance on leaders’ conduct and qualifications, as seen in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. It protects the church from misuse of power, fosters humility and spiritual growth in leaders, and ensures integrity, as emphasized in Hebrews 13:17 and James 3:1. Because of our commitment to accountability, Way Church has partnered with the Wesleyan Church for financial and leadership accountability. There is also an advisory board of overseers which consists of pastors from all around the country. We will also have a local board that provides oversight.
